It doesn’t take student athletes long to learn life, and athletics aren’t always fair. But the lessons of youth learned that truth about life being unfair often pushes them to success beyond their wildest dreams.

In the grand scheme of all things unfair, Pensacola Christian Academy being in the same track and field district as Baker, Central and Jay might not even rate a one of a scale to 10 unless you are from one of the rural schools fighting for a title.

For more than three decades, Baker’s Old Spanish Trail Rodeo has been a hit with cowboys and cowgirls as well as the fans.

Held annually the second weekend in April, and hosted by the Baker Area Recreation Association, this year’s rodeo was April 12-14 at its home in the Barnhill Arena.
