Description: Contemporary Cutlery carving, chef, paring, santoku and utility knives sold individually and in sets made between August 2008 and March 2016. The table below lists the affected models.
To determine if your model is affected, click here to see sample images. Check your knife for a date code and pay close attention to the first three digits of the date code.
All Knives that begin with either 093 or 107 are not affected by the recall and you may continue to safely use your knife or knives.
Certain Knives marked with a beginning code of 086 are affected. To determine if your knife is affected, check the Last 4 digits of the date code as these numbers indicate the week and year of manufacture.
Knives marked with a beginning code of 086 but end in 0916 through 5216 and knives marked with a manufacture date of 2017 (last two digits 17) and beyond are not affected and you may continue to safely use your cutlery.
If your knife is not marked with a date code, you will need to register for a recall kit. If your knife date code begins with 086 and ends with any other week/year combination than what's listed above, you are affected by this announcement and you will need to register for a recall kit.

Incidents/Injuries: Calphalon has received 27 reports of finger or hand injuries and approximately 3,150 reports of knife damage.
Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the affected Contemporary Cutlery knives and contact Calphalon for a free return kit of the affected knives. To order your return kit from this website, follow the instructions above.
